Though it revolves around death, it still bought smile on the faces of people watching and listening it, the 11 minutes short film PHOTO by Kapil Pandey will now be send to different international film festivals around the world. An old man, Kundan finds out he is about to die in 4-5 months. Amongst all the sadness, Kundan, shares with his wife, Saroja, his long cherished dream, that he wanted his name and photo published in the newspaper. The process: Just as the story came into his mind, Kapil decided to make this short film. It took around 20 days to freeze the screenplay. Hardly anyone from the cast and crew charged anything for the project and worked dedicatedly and the rest of the amount Kapil put in from his pocket. From art direction, to costumes everything was worked on in detail. Readings and rehearsals were done with the actors, who finally did an amazing job. Working with the new team, such seasoned actors never made any fuss about anything and made sure to generate a comfort level amongst all helping in creating a great working environment. The Shooting took two days and the post production took a month. Finally the film got completed in the beginning of 2011.
Director™s biography and filmography: Kapil Pandey, 31 years, was born and bought up in a small town Moradabad, of the state Uttar Pradesh, in India. Kapil was always interested in poetry and dramatics but never had the courage of making his carrier in a creative field. He came to Delhi for further studies but with the exposure of a metropolitan city he realised his true calling.
Kapil Pandey has been working in the Indian television industry for the last 10 years. For the first 5 years he assisted on different Television shows, worked under different directors and Production Houses. Finally he made a short film on DV format, named Black Horizon, with almost zero funds. He couldn™t even send the film into different festivals because of lack of funds. The film got selected in Bite the mango international Film festival, Bradford, UK. Kapil then kept on directing whatever came his way. He did a travel show, a game show, a documentary on Indian Army and spiritualism and few other projects. Kapil has been writing for Indian television for last 2 years and had written some very popular shows like ˜Yess Boss™ and ˜Dil Mil Gaye™ along with other shows that came on popular Indian networks like Sony and Star.
