Sanjay Leela Bhansali might be making some adjustments with his attitude where Karan Johar is concerned but the filmmaker sure isn™t in a mood to forgive certain people he has kept off his radar that easily. And this list sure includes Govinda. The director at a recent function, to avoid a face off, exited on the actor™s arrival.
The director was the first one to arrive at the inauguration of his long time assistant Pony Verma™s dance school. Subsequently actors like Vivek Oberoi, Neetu Chandra, Mugdha Godse stepped in and everything seemed to be fine. Bhansali seemed to be in a very good mood as he spoke to the media about his association with Pony before the event started,¯ an eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror. However he surprised all when he suddenly made his exit as soon as Govinda entered.
This happened just before the event actually took off. Clearly, he did not want to share the stage with the actor, who went on to entertain people with some dance moves,¯ added the source.
Just to remind you, Bhansali and Govinda have not been on the best of terms since Govinda refused to play the role of Chunnilal in his 2002 version of the Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay classic Devdas.
However, Pony defending her former boss and guru, said, Bhansali had told me he would come to check out my academy and bless me. The timing of his departure was just a co-incidence.¯ She also admitted that Bhansali did spend a lot more time than the promised 10 minutes.
