The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which features the Fab Four in a park, has made its way to the top spot in a new poll of best album covers. The colourful artwork on the 1967 classic, surrounded by cut-outs of icons and celebrities, saw off competition from George Hardie™s Dark Side of the Moon creation for Pink Floyd in the RollingStone.com online poll, reports Contactmusic. Announcing the winner, editors wrote Sgt. Pepper™s Lonely Hearts Club Band is, without a doubt, one of the most iconic images in the history of rock and roll.¯ Third on the list is Nirvana™s Nevermind and Abbey Road by the Beatles and The Clash™s London Calling round out the top five.
